After more than 10 years, a true techno legend finally returns to Groningen. It’s time for Secret Cinema’s Hotpot Halloween Extravaganza!
On Saturday, November 1st, De Loods transforms into a culinary and musical paradise where the boundaries between dinner and rave blur, and your taste buds and ears are stimulated at the same time.
Secret Cinema isn’t just a DJ; he’s a pioneer. From the early ’90s, he helped build the foundations of Dutch techno. With his record label Gem Records, he has built a worldwide reputation and is responsible for timeless classics and launching the careers of countless artists. His sets are known for their melodic depth and hypnotic grooves, a perfect match for this special night.
Hotpot: A Culinary Adventure from the Far East
The evening begins with a unique first: authentic Chinese hotpot in Groningen. Special hotpot tables are being brought to De Loods to let you experience the communal and flavorful tradition. This culinary concept is provided by Marco Duits, a DJ and vinyl enthusiast who lived in Chengdu for years, the hotpot capital of the world, and there founded the legendary techno club TAG. He now brings this experience to festivals like Wildeburg and Zeezout.
This is more than just eating; it’s a unique ‘communal dining experience’. You sit with eight people at a table and share the hotpot, just as is tradition in China. If you come with your friend group of eight, you get your own table with a €5 discount per person. Are you with fewer people or coming alone? Then feel free to join strangers and make new friends while you enjoy the bubbling pots together. After dinner, you’ll have new friends to rave with at the afterparty! For vegetarians and vegans, there is, of course, a special table available.
The bubbling pots and spicy aromas are the perfect prelude to a night full of mystique and melody, all in the style of Halloween.

The musical journey begins with a world-class line-up featuring artists from three continents and a top local act:

A combo ticket for unlimited hotpot and the afterparty costs €30. If you come with a group of eight, you get your own table and pay only €25 per person. If you only want to dance, you can buy a separate afterparty ticket from 11:00 PM for €15.
